Crossing the pond: Cocoanect’s Specialty Cocoa now available in North-America

We are proud to announce that starting this spring, we will be distributing fine flavour cocoa beans to our North-American specialty clients from a warehouse in Philadelphia, USA.

“We are excited to introduce fine flavour cocoa beans to the North-American market from relatively unknown origins. With our close ties to cocoa producers on the African continent, we will focus on supplying African beans as well as niche origins from other regions which are not yet available to the majority of chocolate makers in the US & Canada” Specialty Cocoa Specialist Mirko Bellocchio explains.

At the yearly epicenter of American craft chocolate, the North West Chocolate Festival, Cocoanect presented several samples. These included Uganda (Mountains of the Moon), Madagascar (UCLS), Colombia (Finca Aguas Claras) and India (GoGround). Though this was only a small selection of what we have on offer, chocolate makers and chocolate aficionados were showing great excitement to have easier access to these beans and an eagerness to translate these new flavours into chocolate.

New editions: India and Solomon Islands

More good news, and not just for those in North-America: we have also added new origins to our offering list. Both American and European chocolate makers can now order fine or flavour beans from South-India (GoGround) and the Solomon Islands (Makira Gold). Supply from these origins is limited as they still operate on a small-scale. However, we are confident that our partnership will help increase their growth and impact on local communities.
